Deciding what to make for dinner ?
Here’s your perfect answer – a healthy one pot comfort meal !

Daliya Khichdi
Serves 2-3
3/4 Cup daliya/broken wheat
1/4 Cup yellow moong dal
(Wash & soak together for 30 minutes)
1 Onion finely chopped
1 Tomato finely chopped
1 cup chopped vegetables (potatoes,carrots,peas)
2 tbsp oil
1 tsp mustard seeds
1 tsp cumin seeds
A pinch of asafoetida (hing)
A few curry leaves
2 finely chopped green chillies
1 whole dry Kashmiri chilli
5-6 pods garlic finely chopped
1 tsp Pav bhaji masala / garam masala
1/4 tsp turmeric
1/4 tsp red chili powder
Salt as per taste

Method
Heat oil in a pressure cooker
Sputter mustard seeds,cumin seeds,
curry leaves and chillies .
Add garlic,sauté till light golden brown.
Add onions,sauté till golden.
Add tomatoes and fry well.
Add in all the powdered spices,and remaining vegetables.Sauté for 2 to 3 mins.
Add the soaked dal and broken wheat,Mix well for 2 to 3 minutes
Add 3 cups water check your salt and close the pressure cooker.
Turn off the gas after 2 whistles.
Garnish with fresh coriander.
Serve with curd.
