Hena’s Kitchen Bao Buns

175gms plain flour
1/2tsp yeast (active dry yeast)
1/2tsp baking powder
2tsp Milk powder
70-80ml luke warm water to knead
Dissolve the yeast in Luke warm water and set aside for 10 minutes till frothy.
In a bowl add flour,milk powder,baking powder & sugar.
Make a well in the centre add the yeast mixture and the water and the oil.
Knead well to form a smooth dough (add extra flour if the dough is sticky)
Set aside in a warm place for 2 hours.
Once the dough has risen to double its size place on a flour dusted surface.
Knock down the dough removing all the air.
Roll this out into a 1cm thickness sheet.
Using a round cutter of 3.5 inches cut into rounds.
Brush a little oil on each round and fold into half.
Smoothen the top lightly with your rolling pin.
Set aside for 30-40 minutes to prove.
Once it has risen place on a butter paper and steam for 15-17 minutes. (Do not flip)
Add any filling of your choice and enjoy!
