Hena’s Pan Fried Chilly Nut Tofu. (This recipe can be made with potatoes/paneer/chicken/prawns)
400 gms Firm Tofu (pan fried)
3 tbsp garlic finely chopped
6-7 Dried whole red chillies (de seed) and cut to 1 inch pieces
1/4cup Roasted cashew nuts
1/4cup caramelised peanuts .
For the sauce mix the below in a bowl and set aside.
1 tbsp Soy Sauce
2 tbsp Oyster sauce
1 tsp brown sugar / honey
1 tsp red chilly flakes
1 tbsp cornflour
Prepping the Tofu
Take firm tofu drain well.
Place on a paper towel.
Once the tofu has drained cut it into cubes.
Sprinkle cornflour and ensure all pieces covered .
In a large frying pan heat oil and pan fry the tofu .
Keep aside .
Take oil in a pan add the garlic and sauté till golden and crispy .
Throw in the red chillies mix well .
Toss in the tofu .
Pour the sauce you’ve prepped and toss for a minute.
Add the nuts toss for a minute or two .
Adjust salt as per taste .
Garnish with toasted sesame seeds and spring onion greens.
